PROJECT OVERVIEW
Enjoy the Great Outdoors
Enjoy the Great Outdoors was a campaign initiated by Glen Elder State Park in partnership with the Waconda Cultural Association. The goal was to promote the Waconda Springs historical area and increase awareness of the many outdoor recreational opportunities available at Glen Elder State Park during the winter months.
VIDEO MARKETING
Telling the Story
The purpose of the promotional videos was to highlight the Waconda Springs historical area and increase awareness of the many outdoor recreational opportunities available at Glen Elder State Park. We quickly determined that hunting, fishing, and hiking would be our main points of focus. We then highlighted the golden winter landscapes, historical Waconda Springs, and lodging opportunities which tied everything together.
CREATING THE LOOK
Branding the Campaign
The Waconda Cultural Association requested a logo that could be used on the WCA Facebook and website pages, tying it to the "Great Outdoors" of the Glen Elder State Park. We went to work, creating a branding campaign that represented their desired elements of water, hills, lodging, and trees. Merchandising such as T-shirts and badges were created, and the banner continues to be used on various marketing materials to this day.
PROMOTION
Sharing the Story
We worked with Waconda Cultural Association to promote the campaign and premier all three videos on their Facebook page. The video releases were overwhelmingly successful with a total Facebook reach of over 12,450. The campaign generated over 640 likes & reactions, 80+ comments, and over 75 shares.
The marketing campaign was aimed both regionally for North Central Kansas and state-wide, but was also picked up internationally through state tourism exposure
The professional level of the videos produced for the Waconda Cultural Association's Enjoy the Great Outdoors campaign was excellent! Each of the three videos showcased a unique experience at Glen Elder State Park while drawing the viewer's senses to experience our spaces.
